Something scarry for halloween
Here is an interesting article that should scare you. I am not a fan of either candidate but Obama sure scares me more than the McCain. This can be spun either way, and at best, we are going to be punished for the next four years with a sub-par person in the white house.
What really scares me is how our media is supposed to be unbiased in presenting news. Here we have another case of the media covering up information because it is damaging to them, or it may mean they loose funding, etc. The free press as organized is supposed to be unbiased and present all the data. The founding fathers are rolling over in their graves right now. Sad what the media has morphed into, a propaganda machine for rent. I think there are some famous dictators (one particular in Germany) that were pretty successful once they had control of the media.

James Taranto (WJS Best of the Web Editor) has been following this pretty closely. He covers why it may be reasonable for the LA Times to bury the video because it could be possible that the full video may compromise someone (like a source), but Taranto goes on to say that if the Times were really interested in publishing the news there should be a way to do so without those claimed negative effects. For instance, the Times could publish a transcript, or portions of the video.
I think it's educational in every circumstance to reverse your position and then ask yourself the same questions. If you can see yourself taking the same principled action when you reverse your position, then you may be right in your action, but if you would change your actions based upon your position, well then what good are you? Some of the big news media organizations (LA Times) have certainly shown themselves to be of no use or value at all.
